Who you are dealing with

Bidhaven is the website at www.bidhaven.lol. It sells lots in a pixel city: buy one and your business gets a building with your name on its billboard.

Who charges you

Bidhaven does not take your money directly. Payments run through Stripe with Managed Payments enabled, which makes Stripe the merchant of record. At checkout you will see Sold through Link; your card statement will read LINK.COM* followed by the Bidhaven descriptor; and your receipt and tax invoice come from Link, not from Bidhaven.

Stripe calculates, collects and remits the VAT on this sale. Bidhaven builds and keeps the listing you bought.

What you are buying

A single lot in the city, bought once. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
A building on that lot carrying your business name, your logo and your colour, and a page at /b/your-business that the building links to.
Three sizes, all priced in USD: Small at $1.00, Medium at $49.00 and Large at $99.00.

VAT is added on top of those prices at checkout. The rate depends on where you are — a buyer in Denmark pays 25% more than the figure shown, so a $1.00 USD lot is charged at $1.25 USD. The total is shown on Stripe’s page before you pay.

Buildings can be taken over

As soon as a purchase, defence or transfer completes, any other signed-in company may challenge the building by paying the next price rung, 25% higher and rounded up to a whole major currency unit. The payment is taken immediately and the bid must remain standing for 24 hours before ownership transfers.

The owner may pay the same amount to defend. A third party may pay the next rung to replace the standing bid and restart the 24 hours. A replaced or defended bidder is refunded in full. If the bid survives, the challenger gets the building and their company replaces the old company on the lot. The displaced owner is not refunded for their original purchase. Their company row, public page and slug remain intact.

How long the service lasts

Ownership of a particular building is not permanent because of the takeover market. A company keeps the building until a paid challenge survives, or until Bidhaven itself stops running.

That is not the same as forever. Your listing lasts as long as Bidhaven exists as a running website. Bidhaven is a small operation and could stop — if it does, the buildings stop with it. You should treat a lot as a one-off purchase of something that exists today, not as an asset with a guaranteed lifetime. If Bidhaven is going to shut down, the owner will give notice by email to the address on your account.

Your building, your content

You keep every right in the name, logo and text you upload. You give Bidhaven permission to display them in the city and on your page, which is the entire point of the purchase.
You must have the right to use what you upload. Do not upload somebody else’s trade mark.
Bidhaven may remove or refuse content that is illegal, deceptive, hateful, or sexual, and may remove a listing that impersonates someone. If a listing is removed for one of those reasons the payment is not refunded.
Your business name, headline, logo and colour are public. They appear on the building and on your page, to anyone, signed in or not.

When you buy

Clicking the buy control holds the lot for 15 minutes while you pay. If you do not finish, the hold lapses and the lot goes back on sale. Stripe’s payment page stays open for 30 minutes, which is longer than the hold — so it is possible to pay for a lot that has already been sold to someone else in the meantime. When that happens Bidhaven refunds you in full, automatically. See Refunds and withdrawal.

A building can be challenged immediately after purchase. Paying for a lot does not guarantee that your company remains on that building forever, and a later takeover does not refund you. Ownership changes only after a paid challenge survives its full 24-hour window.

What Bidhaven does not promise

No promise of visitors, clicks, leads, sales, or any commercial result from owning a lot.
No promise of uninterrupted service. Bidhaven runs on Vercel and Supabase and will sometimes be down.
Nothing here limits your rights as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country you live in.

Changes to these terms

The version recorded against your order is the version that was live when you bought. Changing this page later does not change what you agreed to; the version identifier is stored on your order row for exactly that reason.

Law and complaints

Bidhaven is operated from Denmark and Danish law applies, without taking away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in. If you want to complain, write to the address on the contact page first.

TODO(owner): a Danish trader selling to EU consumers is normally expected to name a dispute-resolution route — the Danish Konkurrence- og Forbrugerstyrelsen’s complaints board, and an EU online dispute resolution reference. Whether both are required here needs a lawyer.
